‘Ask a Ninja’ duo signs book deal

'Ask a Ninja' duo signs book deal

It's not easy to turn YouTube stardom into the real thing. But Douglas Sarine and Kent Nichols, the duo behind online phenom "Ask a ninja," are making some inroads. Their video clips are among my favorite.

First, I've read that they have sold a book deal to Random House unit Crown Publishing for six figures. The book is appropriately and tentatively called "The Ninja Handbook." I have no idea if they can transcend into print from two-minute podcast, but hey good luck to you.

But that's not all. UTA is now repping the pair for television projects via its new online division, holding meetings with execs for a possible series.

The "Ninja" Web shorts feature ironic monologues and other sketches on the supremacy of ninjas and also has them interviewing celebs including Will Ferrell.
