CBS = Couric Bouys Sales
Here is a television topic that I have no interest in but maybe you do — katie couric.
So far, Katie Couric is earning her $15 million-a-year salary. The new ";CBS Evening News with Katie Couric"; posted an excellent debut of 13.6 million total viewers — almost doubling the number of viewers of its nearest competitors.
CBS President Sean McManus remained cautious, saying the real test would be ratings six months to a year from now. But for the network, the higher upfront ad sales made the Couric deal instantly profitable.
