CBS Hires Quincy Smith
CBS has hired "a star Silicon Valley dealmaker to shape its new media strategy and pursue acquisitions." His name is Quincy Smith.
Mister Smith is noted here in the Silicon Valley for his new media deals including several by Google.
"This shows how serious we are about new media," Mr. Moonves says. "We're looking to buy the YouTube that nobody has heard of yet. Quincy is the right person to help us place those bets."
Google CEO Eric Schmidt said that virtually all of their significant acquisitions in media strategy was co-developed with Quincy Smith, adding "Quincy knows as much about the company as any of the executives at Google."
It will be interesting to see what he comes up with.
