Connecting Dots ... Alcatel & 2Wire

Alcatel purchases a 25% stake in 2Wire Inc.

2Wire makes residential gateways and set-top boxes for DSL providers like SBC, who incidentally have a large deal with each other. Alcatel also has a large deal with SBC for it IPTV rollout.

In addition to Alcatel's investment, AT&T Corp. and Telmex have also agreed to acquire minority interests in 2 Wire from 2Wire's existing shareholders.
