A large number of consumers are prepared to upgrade their televisions from analog to HDTV in anticipation of the Digital Transaction Act. They're also prepared to upgrade their television components in order to experience the true advantages of high definition television.

Many consumers are choosing to recycle and/or giveaway their old analog televisions and outdated components. The Consumer Electronics Association has setup a website called MyGreenElectronics in order for consumers to find electronics recycling location in their area. The website also has an 'electronics use calculator' to show consumers how specific electronics impact your expenses on a daily basis.

New technologies such as Blu-ray DVD, as well as a recent boost of cash thanks to the 2007 income tax rebate, has sparked shoppers to abandon dealing with analog and browse the electronics aisle in search of the best components to compliment their HDTV experience.
