"I made the "Vote Different" ad because I wanted to express my feelings about the Democratic primary, and because I wanted to show that an individual citizen can affect the process. There are thousands of other people who could have made this ad, and I guarantee that more ads like it--by people of all political persuasions--will follow."So said Phil de Vellis, the creator of the anti-Hillary ad that appeared on YouTube and made the rounds of both the Internet and television talk shows. He then resigned from his job at a political interactive consultancy, Blue State Digital.
For you conspiracy minded individuals, Blue State Digital was hired by the Barack Obama campaign, which is plugged at the end of the spot. However, I don't subscribe to that conspiratorial line of thinking because it is just too easy in today's new media landscape for people to do creative things like this. Phil must have wondered off the reservation
, and for the sake of entertainment, I'm glad he did.Permalink: Creator of '1984' Anti-Hillary Ad Outed, Resigns
