Don't Blinkx now but Lycos is in a deal
Filed in archive Internet TV on August 30, 2006
lycos has put in place an alliance with video search engine Blinkx.
Through the deal, blinkx will add its index of more than four million hours of searchable video content -- including clips of TV shows, music videos and video blogs -- to Lycos's video search capabilities. Blinkx says it is the "world's largest video search engine." The two companies will share in any revenue generated by the search results.
I looked at Lycos's video page and was overwhelmed by its blandness. So, for Blinkx, this deal must be a way to gain a few extra dollars without much work. For Lycos, this deal must be a way to actually put some video on its search pages. I recommend to you to remain at Blinkx site and rapidly forget this deal.
