For Porn, TV outpaces the Internet

This little factoid surprised me.

When it comes to 'adult entertainment' the Internet continues to trail DVD's. This according to the AVN Media Network. Their report says that American consumers are consuming more adult content, and despite the rapid growth of online sources, are actually watching more of it on DVD's, cable, and pay-per-view TV.

During 2006, adult video/DVD dales grew 28% to $3.6 billion, which compares with online adult entertainment sales of $2.8 billion. The mobile adult entertainment market is still relatively miniscule: $39 million in 2006.
