Google: We Won't Tolerate Copyright Violations

Late last week, Google preceded its decision to remove Viacom's material from YouTube with tough talk saying that the search giant would not tolerate copyright violations. Sorry all you Jon Stewart fans, get your fix elsewhere.

YouTube might not have been high on the legal radar because they had almost no cash or assets. But GoogTube is another matter and there must be roving gangslinks of hungry lawyers just itching to go after the cash cow that is called Google. Or is it Mooooogle?

BBC News says that YouTube is devising technology that will allow it to block copyrighted videos from being uploaded. Ya, right. That and $4 can get you a latte at Starbucks. Readers of this blog already know about that; read YouTube: Sorry, but you still have to find your copyrighted stuff on your own
