As we have moved through the years of HDTVs, the main cable spec, HDMI, has slowly been improved, adding different features, such as an extended colourset. Now we've reached spec4 and we've got the biggest change yet; internet connectivity. The cable now contains a dedicated ethernet channel allowing items to communicate with each other, and share an internet connection. Clever!
We've also got support for future 3D standards, and some devisions in cable quality, which don't seem to have any detailed differences as yet. More as it comes.
