Increasing demand for HDTV gives a push to channel packages such as Direct TV Channels

As per a report from Consumer Electronics Association, two-third of U.S. households own a HDTV and more Americans are planning to buy one in the coming months. Video products top the charts of consumer electronic devices owned by US consumers with 65% of US homes owning at least one HDTV set which is up 13% as compared to last year.
People are buying HDTVs as secondary sets and now an average household has 1.8 HDTV sets which is 1.5% higher as compared to last year. The study also reveals that 23% of the Americans intend to buy an HDTV in the next twelve months.
As per Brian Markwalter, VP, Research and Standards:
A drop in price, widespread availability of HD content and successful completion of the digital television transition last year have all led to an increased ownership rate for HDTV's
The rise in consumption of HDTV has also led to increasing demand for channel packages such as Direct TV Channels.
