Internet connected TV; cool or not?

TVs featuring ethernet ports are becoming more and more common, allowing viewers to connect to the net and view pieces of information straight onto their screens, but is it really a worthwhile technology and what are the implications with internet security software?
The new bravia shown above features it in order to grab RSS feeds and the like…but who really needs that? there are barely any situations where I can think that I would like this feature. Admittedly I don't exactly use RSS that much anyway, but why would I need this on a TV? I'd just use my computer!
Will this be another fad, or will it really go mainstream? Who knows

it stands to reason it’s cool! so comfortable and useful. sure it will go mainstream! a lot of my friends have bought one already and are completely satisfied. I’m thinking of doing it myself, have read a lot on the topic at different blogs I found with the help of http://www.picktorrent.com search engine. think it’s worth it
