Metacafe’s Producer Rewards program

Occasionally I am asked how an amateur can earn money on the Internet with broadband video. Naturally, the most important ingredient is to have good content. But it is also important to figure out what to do with your killer video clips.
Metacafe believes its site is where you should upload your video to because of its Producer Rewards program. This program launched at the end of October; paying amateur producers $5 for every 1000 views of their video clips on Metacafe.com. Clips begin earning money after they exceed 20,000 views and a 3.0 or higher rating by the viewers.
According to Metacafe, by mid-January more than 27 million views had taken place and the top 8 producers earned more than $10,000 each. Apparently, the top 3 producers have earned over $20,000 each.
