Motorola Ships its 50 Millionth Digital Cable Set-Top Box

Motorola says that it has shipped its 50 millionth digital cable set-top box. Just for you purists out there, the figure includes boxes shipped by General Instrument, whom Motorola acquired in 2000.

One tenth, or 5 million, of those boxes are equipped with DVR technology.
