NBC Rewind Statistics
Recently, NBC started up an ad-supported, full-episode video player named originally enough 'NBC Rewind.' Rewinds are 2-minute replays of episodes you missed on television. You can also watch entire episodes while you are there.

They claim that in its third week of availability that their site has generated nearly 4 million video streams which is UP a million from the previous week. I point out that in comparison, more than 20 million people tune into CSI each week on their televisions.

NBC also revealed that average time spent per visit at 'NBC Rewind' grew 5% to 22.37 minutes, with a quarter of those visits lasting over half an hour. NBC's statistics are based on measurements carried out by Omniture and Hitwise.

I want to ask who releases minutes with two-decimal point precision and then says a fourth say longer than a half hour? Instead, my advice to NBC is to trim down how long an ad you insert into the video streams. Anyone moving in Internet time (now there is an oldie but a goodie) who wants their content chopped to 2-minutes does not take kindly to a 20-second ad.
