NBCU Expands Global Presence
No truth to the rumor that NBCU will be renamed IBC

NBC Universal announced an ambitious plan to launch 20 additional television channels in 23 countries.
It follows the recent pledge by NBCU president and CEO Jeff Zucker to make international growth one of his strategic priorities, alongside content creation and digital expansion.
If all is successful, NBC hopes to double its international revenues; near $3 Billion last year.
Being the television business geek that I am, the statement I found most interesting came from Peter Smith, NBCU International President. ""We look to markets with growing digital subscriber bases, emerging pay television consumption, new platforms and new technologies." My translation: it just might be easier to bypass Comcast and time warner when looking to experiment with new advertising ideas.

NBCU really seems to be ambitious with their global and online strategies. It seems almost as if they are spreading themselves thin at every juncture.
Anyhow, I thought I would take this chance to pass along an opportunity to have input into the development of this space.
