Panasonic Rear Projection HDTV Replacement Lamp

Filed in archive Projection Televisions by itsTripple on November 03, 2007

I just had my first experience with a blown-out lamp on my Panasonic Rear Projection HDTV.

If you still have a traditional rear projection HDTV, you most likely will need to replace that bulb at some point. The challenge will be where to find the replacement bulb. Let me give you some advice... Don't bother going to the big-box retailers to purchase one. Here is why.

First of all most retailers just sell the hardware and basic connection cords, i.e. monster cableslinks, HDMI, etc. The other reason is that all traditional lamp-powered rear projection HDTV sets are a thing of the past. Most retailers don't even carry them anymore. The new standard is DLP.

So hit the internet if you still want to enjoy your rear-projection HDTV. I found a genuine Panasonic Rear Projection HDTV replacement bulb for about $230. That was about $100 less than the manufacturer's price.
