Study: Most Watch Web Video, But Avoid The Ads

Wait, this just in … study says that most people watch web video but avoid the ads. So let me see if I have this correct: people aren't drawn in by the advertising? Shocking!
The study that I recited was done by Burst Media. It also said that 78% believe that the ads were intrusive, 62% said the ads disrupted their Web surfing experience, and 48% said they typically stop watching video after they encounter an ad. And as proof of how good a quality video they must be watching, 28% said they leave the Web site immediately upon noticing the ad.
Let's see what other statistic Gems may interest us … men more likely to watch online video than women (mumble, mumble) … women more likely to hate the ads (mumble, mumble) … Ah, here we are: the most popular type of video content to view are news clips, followed by movie trailers.
I hesitate to point out that movie trailers are a form of advertising.
