cliff lied about what mia said.cliff is very sneaky and stubborn. He needs to pack his knifes and go home.
January 17th, 2007
I have been enjoying the entire season, less Marcel. He is kniving, sneeky, and definitly a “brown noser”! Nothing he has cooked has been impressive, and he needs to do something about his discusting hair!
January 17th, 2007
Also the situation with Cliff is tough, but rules are rules, if Sam would have cut his hair too, and they hadn’t filmed the attempted prank on Marcel, there may have been the payback that Marcel deserved. He definitely gets my vote as the least liked no matter how well he can cook.
January 18th, 2007
Marcel is such a jerk. GROW UP. The world does not revolve around you. Your tonal quality is soo annoying and your behaviour is just too grade school.
Good luck to all of the other talented chefs on the show.
January 18th, 2007
I have been following the show, this seasons contestants seem sort of odd to me. Betty and Mia had it going on, sorry one left and one was asked to leave. Frank (the mafia wanna be guy), who wants to beat someones face to a pulp his own mother would not recongize him, he scared me, why in the world was he selected to be on the show. And the tat a tell girl with the scarf she wore around her head, she seemed quite not here on earth. I LOL when one of your guest asked ” are these people on crack”.
Anyway, I do agree with you%
January 19th, 2007
Cliff lied about Mia, Mia did put out her ideas. Cliff did put her under the bus. Maybe you should call Mia back into the mix. She deserves it. Marcel needs to go home. Elia food seems to be very good.

I hope sam n marcel win.. they have the most confidence…ilan belongs at an applebees elia belongs at a small spanish cafe.. It’s about the FOOD!!!!

Padma is Hot Forget about the food
January 24th, 2007
I hope Marcel wins! The cry babies put him through enough crap!!!He is the best chef…every chef i have ever worked with was a jerk.. But they could COOK GREAT FOOD!
January 25th, 2007
I have just watched the latest show. My heart is broken. I have watched both last season and this season. I can not believe that Sam is not in the final. What happened to the Top Chef having leadership skills and motivating others to do well. I am so sad that I no longer have any desire to watch the final show. Marcel is a Jerk and Elan needs many years to become the chef that Sam is. He will be missed on the show as he was the Top Chef in my book.
January 27th, 2007
hey,i have just watched the latest show and i m so glad bez one of my favourite chef offcourse cute Marcel is still in the final show and i believe he is the one who will be Top Chef.i feel sad for Elia and Sam well Elan he really need more time to become the Top Chef.My best wishes with u marcel Good luck.
January 28th, 2007
Marcel (aka “Eddie Munster”) is a buzzing nat as described by Sam. I think Sams leadership and maturity as well as his passion for great food is in my opinion, what makes him the complete package. To bad he got curb chucked
January 28th, 2007
I certainly hope the judges are smarter than they seem!!! To eliminate Sam and keep a stinking weazel like Marcel is the stupidest move I have ever seen. I know it is all because of the drama and I am sick to death of these reality shows doing this kind of stunt. First Project Runway picks the a–hole Jeffrey over Uli now this. If Marcel is pick as the winner I personally will never watch anymore of these Bravo TV shows
January 29th, 2007
I can not believe that Sam is not in the finals. Instead you choose someone so sneaky and dishonest as Marcel. I will not be watching your program anymore as I feel it is very clear that you do not choose who actually is the best, but only who you want. The statement was made, I would like to see Marcel in Hawaii to see what he can do. He has failed many times and yet the judges continue to pick him. Viewers know that Sam is the Top Chef and that Marcel is a joke. I enjoyed the show until the last eposide and will never watch again. Pick better judges.
January 29th, 2007
personally, these are the worst group chef’s the show has had since airred. for the money, prestige, I would have actually preferred to see some honest to goodness cooking!!!!
January 29th, 2007
none of the chef’s were consistent, a few didn’t have the slightest idea what to do with ingedients. none behaved at all professionally, to wards each other or them selves!!
January 29th, 2007
Last season it came down to Tiffani and Harold, and both had great food. The biggest issue was that nobody wanted to work with or under Tiffani because she behaved badly. Marcel is in that same category–why would anyone award the title of Top Chef to an adolescent who does not know how to behave towards the others in the kitchen? He is a little rat, and his food did not earn him the consistent rewards of Sam and Ilan. Though I loved Elia’s approach, she needs a little more experience, and it should have been Sam and Ilan in the finals. What’s up–are you judges on crack???
January 29th, 2007
all chefs knew the rules! to have so much at stake, you would think the judges would have had the good grace, and tell the contestants they did not belong there. i’ve seen quite a few very good chefs get “bonged” for one mistake. this circus is finally at an end and, I am glad it’s over!!!! BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME. ‘THEY ARE OUT THERE1111
January 29th, 2007
unbelievable!!!! marcel a finalist. don’t the judges review all of the tapes, i know thats how cliff was caught. it seemed to me the judge’s [chef tom] didn’t like the complaining. so be it, but marcel nerver really did well through out the entire competion. when sam was eliminated i could not believe it. i was torn between elia and ilan. even chef allen in hawaii wasleaning towards sam until chef tom said he didn’t cook any of his dishes. i do firmly think the judges chose marcel because they felt sorry for him. all that foam, didn’t someone say it looked cat puke!!! amen. a top chef being some whinney, sneaking liar.. what a whimp. i have been watching this show since it’s broadcast, i am notsure about the future. by the by i wrote down sam’s meatloaf recipe after he appeared on tv this week, very, very good. hey sam, about a resturant with you, elia and ilan. you could put mike out front.
January 30th, 2007
Let me help you guys out on this one. Granted Sam has displayed the most qualities of a Chef. Chef Tom put it best when he said to Elia when she was whining about Marcel, “We are judging you on the food, not how you act in the kitchen”. I am sad to see Sam go, but as chef Tom said “it is a cooking competion”. Based on those guidelines I believe that the show should carry a more appripo title “Top Cook”. I am a chef and I can tell you that your lucky if you get to spend about 20% of your time actualy cooking. Your day is more of training, scheduling, quality control, meetings, PR. events, customer relations, menu developement, inventory control, and budgeting. Not the kind of thing that would play on T.V. to well. I would equate being a chef as more like being a general in the army. You are not in the trenches so much as you are planing the overall effort. I have worked with the Marcel’s, Sam’s, Ilan’s and Elia’s in the real world. Each one bring’s there owns unique and subtle experience to the dynamics of a kitchen. Each has there positives and negatives. It is easier to work with a Sam, but sometimes it is more exciting to work with a Marcel, even if he is a pain. A chef has tolook at diffrent personalities and see how he can get the most out of each of his employees, while minimizing the negatives that each one brings to the table. So as entertaining as the show is you need to realize on thing, Relax enjoy it for what it is, a show about cooking. Most importanly Padma is caliente
January 30th, 2007
watched your show this season. was real disappointed in the judges esp the one named tom. they are so unfair. i am a teenager and act better than marcel so how in the world did he make it past sam and elia. they were the best cooks all the time. your show is kind of dumb now like the other reality shows. just for the drama. you people, yes you tom, must be smoking pot
January 31st, 2007
I am not alone in realizing that any reality show thrives on conflict, and Top Chef is no different. Every competition has included one chef who is disliked by all the others, in this case Marcel. Cliff was probably paid off to do something as stupid as he did,I just wish he had succeeded! I was very disappointed to see Sam and Elia eliminated, they were technically the best, but the producers wanted a showdown with the most controversial of chef’s involved. Marcel, please!, no more foam!!!
January 31st, 2007
HELO. WHY DOESNT MARCEL TIE UP HIS HAIR OR WEAR A HAIRNET OR SOMETHING WHO WANTS TO FIND A HAIR IN HIS FOOD
January 31st, 2007
I was so sorry to see marcel loose tonight. Elan once again stayed with his spanish influence. I realize we only see a samll portion of the chefs time together but I think all of them should be ashamed for the way they treated marcel. He should have won just for putting up with all the insults!
P.S. Betty made me cringe. you always acted so sweet but were a total viper to marcel. I would’nt want to work with you!!!
January 31st, 2007
Was it just me or did anyone notice the little twinkle in Padamas eyes when Sam got off the helicopter? The heat was’nt just int the kitchen,,,
January 31st, 2007
Marcel is the best chef on that show! He deserved to win. He wasn’t there to make friends. He was there to win a competition. All the other chefs acted horribly & childish. I expect we’ll see Marcel become a great chef one day.
January 31st, 2007
I have to say I was really let down by the outcome. Sam was not only a hottie, he was technical, focused, creative, and driven. The fact that IIan won after serving chocolate covered chicken livers, is astounding to me. What was he thinking? It may as have well been,”I’ll combine fruitloops and mayonnaise and serve it as a sorbet. “They’ll love it!”. “I use opal cuts when I cook, that’s why I thought it would be a good flavor combination”, he said. And the Chef he served it to,,well he didn’t looked thrilled, but I applaud him for going into the scarey space. Thankfully, I wasn’t there to taste it myself, I would have froze, like deer in the head lights.
Sam was robbed.
January 31st, 2007
Wow. Were you Judges ever wrong on this one. Marcel was beaten up, laughed at sabbotaged even at the end when Sam and Mike were to help him. You Judges should have seen what was happening. Marcel deserved to win. You loser Judges must have been doing something else during the shows. Wow. I will do something for you Marcel. I will never again watch Top Chef in protest to your unfair treatment. Really. I have watched to last Top Chef. I will never again watch the show. Just for you Marcel. Don’t know you buddy but a lot of the world is just what you went through. Unfair. Judges, I hope others will follow me and stop watching your show because of what you did on this one. Goodbye.
January 31st, 2007
I agree that the way Marcell was treated was in-excuseable. They all needed a pony to defame,to ride, and use, unfortunatly it was him. Granted, he took liberties, but that’s what it was all about. I have freedom to be me, after all what is it to be a chef, a frustrated artist(?), trying desperstely to rise above medicority and express ourselves through the pleasure and indulgence of fine food. From the start, he was the odd man out, and he stood his ground. That says something about him as a person,(knowing the odds were against him), and guess what?, he got to say,”I’m still standing”. Elia got soft and sold him out, (maybe because she shaved her head, or she wanted to belong to the pack, and finally get acceptance on a big scale(only she knows why), because that’s what everyone does, right? (How Original). It’s embarrassing that you sunk that low Elia. He was your friend, and he trusted you. How childish a gamble. And most importantly, it did’nt pay off, did it?

I also will never watch this show again but not because Marcel lost. He should have been sent long ago. I am through watching shows on Bravo period because even though they say it is not about the drama, it is. The judges are unfair and personally, I don’t think any of them can tell the difference between fine dining and McDonalds. I was so disappointed that I wasted so much of my time watching such trash as this turned out to be. Next season will be the same so why bother.
February 1st, 2007
I was so disgusted to see obnoxious Elon win. Of all of the contestants, He and Cliff were the rudest.I would’ve fired both of them if they worked for me. Glad to see Elia go as well as her true colors showed in the end. I felt that Sam and Marcel were the best Chefs in the end and I was very disappointed that Marcel did not win over that little brat.
I do know, however that Marcel will go on to do wonderful things with his creativity and wonderful food. Mayve as he matures he’ll gain some more social skill, but with that crowd..could you blame him???
February 1st, 2007
i’m glad marsal didn’t win.there again, missing main ingedients !!this whole session of the show was a total let down. chefs prepare, dictate, delegate, and most of all takes responsiblity for the actions of the kitchen. productivity, quality, and satisfaction for a job well done!! none of that was seen, nor a lot of actual cooking. i can’t wait for next seasons wannabees !!!!
February 1st, 2007
I’m glad that ilan won. Marcel is a looser from the beginning I don’t understand why you judges didn’t sent him home a long time ago.
February 1st, 2007
I am shocked at the out come of the show. Shame on the judge’s. whether you like Marcel or not his dishes were the most original and out of the box. for Elan the same old Spanish do what you know again. After listening to what the judge’s had to say it was clear that Marcel was the TOP CHEF. Put all the drama aside that was just for TV and rating. Marcel I would love to be a partner in any resturant you open. Shame on the top chef’s for a poor and unfair outcome.
P.S. the final 2 should have been Marcel and Sam
February 1st, 2007
Dear Top Chef- When Ilan was picked over Sam, I truly could not believe the poor choice, all of you had made. Watching the show with my children, gave me the time to learn together as a family and group, what the Top Chef Group expected from each individual. I did not have to taste the food, to truly see what each and everyone of you experienced by your face expressions, and comments that each one made, to know that the food was amazing! The reality to me was watching Marcel, a young man, trying very hard, under so much pressure, and being judged by his peers, not seeing him fall apart. Maybe Marcel did not show leadership in the kitchen with Sam & Mikey on the day of the finale, but his food was incredible. Sam, even thou I think he is a great chef, took credit for making one of the dishes, and that was wrong of him to do. Mikey, I am sorry, but he is a joke! No one really had Marcels back, not even “The Top Chef”, and I don’t agree with that. Marcel, you will be a “Great Master Chef” and I hope someday I will be able to try your incredible food. The fact that you remained on top the whole time, while having your patience tested, by people that were feeling intimidated by you really impressed me. Ilan, I love my spanish food, and coming from a spanish culture, which I am very proud of, allows me to let you know that I want to try different taste. Sticking to only (1) flavor & theme, does not make you a “great chef”. This is the 1st time I can say, “The Top Chef Group” did not make the right choice, and they know it… No justice to cooking was served…
Very disappointed,

Response from Ann
I watched the whole show and I think Sam only messed up once and I was so disappointed when you sent him home. I did like Tom but after that I swtiched the channel and I won’t watch it again. Marcel was obnoxious and Ilion was always told what lousy dishes he had. I wanted Sam to win so bad.
February 2nd, 2007
Dear Judges of Top Chef,
It is very sad that the judges of the Top Chef competition passed up the opportunity to acknowledge both a Top Chef and a good role model.
Throughout the competition Marcel demonstrated deep devotion to his work, passionate attention to detail, total commitment to excellence of food preparation and presentation. His enthusiasm was inspirational!
In the face of unwarranted harassment from other competitors, Marcel kept his cool, his sense of humor, and his focus on food. He repeatedly transcended the malevolence of other contestants, including a physical attack. Marcel kept his feet firmly planted on the high road, while Ilan trod the low road all the way to the prize.
In giving the Top Chef title to Ilan, the judges explicitly condone the tactics of intimidation. Ilan and several other contestants took pleasure in tormenting Marcel throughout the program, presumably for being different. They were mean, small minded and foul mouthed.
By rewarding this type of behaviof the judges affirm hatred, discrimination, and abuse. They assert that the ends justify the means—that it is ok to bully your way to the top.
Marcel deserves a public apology from the producers of Top Chef for allowing other contestants to subject him to emotional and physical abuse with no consequences for most of their misbehaviors.
February 3rd, 2007
Marcel should have been the winner. He was the most creative. It should have not been Elan, it should have been Sam. Elia was a whiner. Betty was foul(as were many)and vulgar for a mature woman. None of these people can compare to last winner, Harold. He has them beat in all ways. I thought Sam had a bit of Harold in him. Between Elan & Marcel…..MARCEL. Elan could only do things with a spanish flare. Marcel was much more creative and inventive. I often saw some of Marcel’s comments as his way of being humourous. The others didn’t get it. I agree with other comments….Marcel had to take alot of @$%^* and he handled it well.
February 5th, 2007
Excellent response, SUSAN ALEXANDER, and well spoken. I never did understand what the beef with Marcel was. He wasn’t any more difficult than any of the rest of the contestants, and ALOT less annoying than some. I really enjoyed the 1st season of Top Chef, and looked forward to this one’s airing. It was quite a letdown. You had a really good concept, and you should stick with that. Season 2 was WAY too contrived and unbelievable. I didn’t buy most of the sidebar garbage that was going on…yes, I think you faked all of that Marcel stuff, and the way Elia and Maritza(?) told on Otto and the leeche. If something out of the ordinary happens, fine, but don’t try to invent. We can tell it’s phoney (phony?sic?). However, I still love Project Runway, am starting to get into Top Design (don’t repeat your mistakes and contrive a bunch of garbage on this one, too. I can see where you’re going, and I’m tellin’ ya it’s not believable!!!). And for the record, Elan is the LAST one I thought should win. PLEEEEEEEAZE!!!!
February 6th, 2007
Well, Top Design has already started out as the Top Chef ended. Dramatics all the way. The first sent home were much better than the little young guy but guess what everybody….the little twirp will be in the finals. You can almost bet on it. Top Chef was a joke and as you can see…..Sam should have won. I to believe that some of these people were paid off to do stupid things. Ilan was more involved in the prank on Marcel than Sam. What did Tom say…it was a cooking contest. Yet he went with the drama as much as Padma….what does she actually do anyway except TRY to look good. She is two faced and disloyal to real chefs out there. I wanted to watch the next one but why bother. It really is not about the food. Review the tapes and see who was on the bottome most of the time and that alone will prove that fact. Sorry Bravo TV but you have lost a viewer. Your shows suck. Am now watching the food chanel where at least the food is real and so are the people. Emeril can cook miles around your wannabes. Hey Sam…if you read these things, we just wanted you to know that you were the real winner. All Ilan can cook is Mexican Food. You keep on putting forth your best because in the end, you will be the only one of that group that will ever be a fine chef. Except for maybe Elia if she will quit whinning. I lost respect for her when she let someone else go home in her place. She messed up big time but just would not take responsibility for it. She just whined “I don’t want to go home”. It was her time, she should have stepped aside. All these clowns that wanted Marcel to win are probably just like him….they just think they are the top of the cream. To bad because eventually that cream will sour.
February 6th, 2007
i do believe marcel will score very high down the line. right at this time, no. he is too much too involved with himself.. when he said i like me, good. is there a reason nobody else does? you definitly have a future as a chef, but you have a lot more to learn. i laughed when you said it was your,s and sam,s idea to serve the dish without the fish. it was on tape it was sam’s idea. young man you are very imature, grow up. i made it a point to watch your reaction when it was announced who was the top chef, it was what i thought would happen. you were shocked. you could not believe your name was not announced.. dear boy, grow up. you do have a future in the food business, and i wish you well, but you must not be so obnoxious.
April 30th, 2007
Top Chef season 1 competitor Lee Anne Wong will be doing a new online cooking show every week, only on BravoTV.com! She’ll talk about the winning recipe from that night’s challenge, and show you how to make it at home. Watch it now!

There is a huge difference between killing & torturing your food. I am a vegetarian, my husband is not. I do not condemn him for eating meat-that’s what people do, what I am against is torturing an animal so some snoot can say that’s what she’s serving. Your client supports animal cruelty-I’m not impressed.-Shows the character of her true person.

THE SHOW IS GREAT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CHEF TOM. HE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IS HE REALLY A CHEF? HE REPEATS HIMSELF EVERY EPISODE. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE HIM COMPETE ON THE SHOW
July 18th, 2007
CHEF TOM, SHAVE FOR PETES SAKE. IF YOU WALKED INTO MY KITCHEN LIKE THAT, I WOULD HAVE CANNED YOU ON THE SPOT
July 28th, 2007
Was looking forward to season three…but NOT ANYMORE! The choice of chefs to compete is pathetic. Not one of them is interesting! They are all just arrogant and very offensive. Last season Marcel was arrogant but he had SOME redeeming qualities (very few). But the chefs this time are just NOT REDEEMABLE. Therefore, it is no fun to watch and has become a total disappointment. Where is your Mia, Michael, Elia, Elan, Leeann, or Betty??? These folks were arrogant in there own ways and plenty loud but were tremendous fun to watch. There is NO ONE with any watchable personalities o this season. THerefore, I will no longer watch the show. You have lost me with your crappy choices.
August 12th, 2007
what the hell; marcel in the finale!? that is crazy. first i felt sorry for him in the beginning but later on his immature and sarcastic attitude pissed me off. He also cheated as well and yet he still stays.he should have been immediately eliminated for cheating of any kind. stupid judges!

FIRST OF ALL I AGREE W/ JO MYERS AS TO THE RESULTS OF SEASON TWO. IN REGARDS TO SEASON THREE, WHAT IS ON NOW…SHE SAID JUST WHAT I’M ABOUT TO SAY AFTER LAST WKS. SHOW AND LAST NIGHTS SHOW, 8/22. THE JUDGES HAVE ALREADY CHOSEN BRIAN TO WIN. NOT ONE WORD WAS SAID TO HIM AT THE JUDGES TABLE. TRE’S FIRST DISH, SO YOU ALL SAID, WAS DELICIOUS, SECOND, NOT SO GOOD. OK! D.J. AND BRIAN DID NOTHING. D.J.WAS THE LEADER AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN OUT OF THERE W/OUT DISCUSSION, IF NOT, THEN BRIAN. D.J., I THOUGHT IN THE BEGINNING WAS GREAT, BUT LAST WK. HE SHOWED HIS TRUE COLORS WHEN HE DISAGREED W/ HOWIE SAYING SARA WAS A BABY. HE WAS THE LEADER AND SHOULD HAVE STUCK UP W/ HOWIE. SARA USED TO BE OK, UNTIL SHE DIDN’T GET HER WAY AND PARTY. SHE WAS NOTHING BUT A POUTING CRYBABY. CLAIMING SHE WAS ONLY 20YRS.OLD. BROTHER, SHE SHOULD KNOW HOW MANY 20 YR. OLDS HAVE BEEN ON THIS SHOW. D.J. SHOULD HAVE BEEN SENT HOME LAST WK., ALONG W/ SARA. THE FINAL CHALLENGE WILL BE BETWEEN D.J. AND BRIAN, THE JUDGES FAVORITE. IF THAT’S THE CASE…I WILL NOT WATCH THIS SHOW AGAIN AND IT’S MY FAVORITE, I HAVE MY FAVORITES AND THE JUDGES HAVE THEIRS. GET NEW JUDGES. SAM SHOULD HAVE WON SEASON TWO. YOU’RE ALL A BUNCH OF FAKERS. GET SOME REAL HONEST PEOPLE TO JUGE THESE CHEFS PLEASE.
