Japan's Toshiba have shelved plans to sell organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays in 2009-10. CNET reports that because of the cost of mass production, Toshiba will stick to its plans to commercialize smaller OLED displays. Their plans for OLED displays will stick to just cell phones for 2008 while they observe the OLED market and technological developments.
OLED displays have an advantage over current liquid crystal displays (LCD), because they are thinner, produce brighter images and use less power. Currently, SONY is one of the only major manufacturers producing OLED TVs. Production costs have slowed down the growth of this latest technology.

The Toshiba Satellite U400/U405 series is a new 13.3\" widescreen notebook that weighs in at just 4.85 pounds and packs solid Intel Core 2 Duo Penryn performance and a big hard drive with plenty of storage space. Add to that a stylish chassis covered in Toshiba\'s new \"Fusion\" finish, 3GB of RAM, a webcam, and fingerprint reader and this notebook starts looking even better. Toshiba calls this notebook a \"compact hero [that] balances working room with carrying comfort.\" Let\'s take a look and see if this laptop is as good as it sounds.
